Lumotive is shaping the LiDAR landscape with its programmable optics platform. The Optical Systems Engineer will join a startup team to develop the next generation of LiDAR by blending optics, electronics, and software in hands-on lab work.

You will build, test, debug, and refine real hardware within established architecture and procedures. The role requires collaboration with hardware, optics, firmware, and software teams, plus regular system-level design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with optoelectronic or photonic systems integration and debugging.
• Python for automation, control, and data analysis.

Responsabilités

• Support the implementation of LCM-based lidar system and transmitter designs, contributing to build and test of reference designs.
• Build test stations and fixtures for system-level test, assembly, and calibration, supporting bring-up through production.
• Execute system-level test campaigns to characterize and validate lidar performance across development and production builds.
• Build and maintain Python-based automation and measurement tools for characterization and calibration of system and optoelectronic components.
• Debug systems and transmitters to isolate and resolve performance and integration issues.
• Participate in hardware and system design reviews, providing input on system integration, testability, and robustness.
