Job summary

Nokia is seeking a standards professional to join the Optical Networks team in the United States. The role focuses on defining standards for optical transport products, collaborating with R&D and PLM, and driving innovation within a fast-paced global company.

The successful candidate will have deep telecom product experience, a strong background in Ethernet/IP/MPLS, and excellent communication skills to influence executives and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer, electrical, software, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
  • 5 years of telecom product experience in either network operator or equipment supplier.
  • 5 years of product management or consulting engineering/network architect experience with understanding of Optical, Ethernet and/or IP/MPLS networking solutions.
  • Business acumen and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Line Managers (PLMs) and R&D to identify standardization objectives that support Nokia product strategies.
  • Develop, review, and advocate standardization contributions for Nokia Optical Transport Infrastructure, Ethernet, and Physical Layer topics.
  • Participate in ITU-T Study Group 15, OIF PLL tracks, IEEE 802.3 Working Group, and OpenROADM or other MSAs.
  • Provide internal briefings on standardization results to R&D and PLM.
  • Build trusted relationships and influence key executives.
