Job summary

The Eye Doctors in Topeka, KS is seeking an Optical Technician/Optician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.

You will measure and ensure accurate lens and frame selection, operate lensometers, and contribute to a world-class Total Patient Experience while supporting retail sales.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
• Determine patients' wants and needs and sell to exceed their expectations
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer
• Educate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit patient needs
• Accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt
• Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames

Hours

• Full Time
• Our offices are open Monday-Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-1pm
  • You may need to work a little earlier and/or later as needed
  • You will not work all of these hours, but you must have open availability to work any shift within these hours

SUMMARY

An Optical Technician will achieve a world-class Total Patient Experience that maximizes retail sales while also supporting the patients' medical needs. This team member is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. They connect the patient's needs to the goods and services we offer.
