Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Crawfordsville, IN is seeking an Optical Lab Associate to ensure quality and efficiency of optical lab operations, performing inspections, maintaining SOPs, and driving continuous improvement.

The role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and teamwork. You will inspect lenses and frames, analyze reports, and train staff on SOP usage while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Option 1: Prior work experience in an optical environment (lab, vision center, optometrist office) or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
• Option 2: Prior manufacturing experience in an optical lab or experience with manufacturing optimization procedures (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, Process Control, 5-S).

Responsibilities

• Inspects lenses and frames for workmanship, material integrity, consistency, and defects using automated and manual equipment.
• Reviews and analyzes reports, logs, and forms to ensure product quality.
• Develops and maintains SOPs for lab production functions and trains associates on proper SOP usage.
• Collects, prepares, and analyzes performance data; uses Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma to drive improvements.
• Communicates effectively with customers, suppliers, and Walmart associates; collaborates with cross-functional teams.
