Job summary

Arizona Optical Metrology LLC is seeking an Optical Engineer to advance metrology for high-precision optics including CGHs and test setups. You will model designs in Zemax, perform interferometric tests, and translate drawings into feasible metrology solutions with error budgets.

The role involves programming in Matlab, C, Java, and Python, plus occasional travel to customer sites and industry events. A strong optics and measurement background is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Optical Engineering with 5+ years of related field experience or MS with 3+ years.
• Proficient in optical design/analysis in Zemax.
• Hands-on alignment and measurement with interferometers and metrology tools.
• Strong programming skills in Matlab, C, Java, and Python.
• US Citizenship or green card required for project eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Model optical systems using Zemax; create macros and extensions.
• Set up interferometric tests and collect/reduce data.
• Translate optical drawings/specs into metrology solutions with error budgets.
• Prepare detailed reports and customer-facing CGH design documentation.
• Travel to customer sites/tradeshows as needed.
