Job summary

The Teledyne FLIR manufacturing facility in Freeport, PA produces optical components for thermal imaging products. We seek an Optical Machine Technician to start on 1st shift during training, then move to 2nd or 3rd shift after training.

You’ll learn to operate machines that make and measure optics used in Teledyne FLIR products and may cross-train on multiple machines. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, machining experience, and basic math.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Machining experience strongly preferred.
• Optical manufacturing experience a plus/preferred.
• Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate various machines including diamond turning, conventional polishing, CNC polishers and grinders, and MR finishing (MRF).
• Fabricate optical components: profiling, cutting, milling, grinding, beveling, blocking, polishing, edging, cleaning and testing.
• Use metrology and inspection tools to test and inspect optical components for accuracy and quality.
• Read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
• Follow safety and equipment maintenance procedures.
