Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking an Optical Engineering Intern for its Tucson, Arizona site. You will support the Optical Team by building test setups, running experiments, and analyzing data as part of a fast-moving, hands-on environment.

You will work with mentors, attend regular progress meetings, and engage in tech talks and networking events with interns and staff. Relocation stipend may be available and the program runs 12 consecutive weeks starting May/June 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program with at least one semester remaining after internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internships, labs, projects)

Responsibilities

• Assist optical team with building test setups and running experiments.
• Analyze data and report results to mentors.
• Collaborate across teams to apply engineering concepts to challenges.
• Attend regular 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to track progress.
