Job summary

A leading optical manufacturing firm in New York seeks an experienced Account Executive to manage customer projects and ensure cost-effective manufacturing solutions. Candidates must have a BS/MS/PhD in Optics or Physics and 6+ years of lens design experience. Knowledge of metrology and prior experience with space-based systems are preferred. This position is open to US citizens or green card holders.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience in lens design is required.
• Familiarity with space-based systems and components is desired.
• US Citizenship or green card is required.

Responsibilities

Company Description: Optical lens and component manufacturing serving clients in aerospace, defense, and consumer electronics.

Responsibilities

• Work with customer-initiated projects to determine specifications, analyze designs and materials, and determine feasibility for volume manufacturing to achieve a cost-effective solution that meets and exceeds customer requirements.
• The optical engineer will work with the engineering staff to determine tooling and testing requirements, specify and acquire new equipment as needed while maximizing the use and application of existing optical manufacturing systems.

Education/Experience

• BS/MS/PhD. in Optics, Physics, or equivalent academic program required
• 6+ years’ experience in lens design using Zemax, Code V etc.
• Knowledge of metrology, including interferometry or MTF testing
• Prior experience with space-based systems and components desired, e.g telescopes, off-axis
• VISA/CITIZENSHIP requirement: US Citizens or green card
