Will provide WIC nutritional services in the various sites throughout Volusia County and other future sites as needed. Provides nutrition assessment, certification, and counseling of WIC applicants as a Competent Professional Authority (CPA). Certifies WIC eligible participants using VENA (Value Enhanced Nutritional Assessment) counseling techniques. Completes all initial and ongoing training required for a CPA. Assesses participants for high risk status and completes high risk care plans per current protocol. Provides low and high risk contacts per protocol. Documents interactive counseling sessions per required format. Promotes breastfeeding for pregnant and postpartum women. Provides/documents healthcare referrals for community resources, as needed by the participant.

Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate a nutrition program or project.

Knowledge of the science and current practice of nutrition and dietetics.

Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
