Job summary

University of North Florida is seeking a maintenance associate for the Housing & Residence Life department. Responsibilities include painting, plumbing, minor repairs, moving furniture, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Superintendent.

The role requires quick learning, strong communication, flexibility, and a professional demeanor to represent UNF positively with residents and guests.

Qualifications

  • This position requires an ability to quickly learn methods of repair.
  • Must possess good communication skills, be flexible with a variety of assignments and must be able to exercise good judgment.
  • Experience working within a customer service oriented environment is mandatory.
  • The employee must be able to maintain a professional attitude, promote departmental and university policies and represent the University of North Florida, the Department of Housing and Residence Life to residents and guests in a positive and supportive manner.
  • The applicant will use diplomacy while working with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.
  • Experience using hand tools and hand held power tools preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Cannot be a current UNF student for this position type.

Department Housing & Residence Life-OPS Compensation $16.00 Hourly

This position is maintenance work including assisting with painting, plumbing, and minor repairs. Work will also include moving furniture, cleaning, and all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Superintendent.

This position requires an ability to quickly learn methods of repair. Must possess good communication skills, be flexible with a variety of assignments and must be able to exercise good judgment.
