Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in Volusia County is seeking an OPS Health Support Technician to support the School Based Sealant Program. Your Specific Responsibilities

This position serves as an OPS Health Support Technician on the School Based Sealant Program. This position does not require any dental certifications or training. This position is under the general supervision of the Public Health Services Manager- B SES in the dental outreach program and provides professional support and technical assistance to staff, community agencies and the general public. This position will be assigned to the School Based Sealant Program assisting the dental hygienists while they provide oral health education and preventative dental services for students in Volusia County schools, daycares, and summer programs. This position requires travel between these work sites. This position will provide education to community agencies and the public through community events and health fairs in accordance with the mission and vision of the dental program and the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County.

  • This position does not require you to be a Certified Dental Assistant.

Qualifications
Minimum
  • Must be willing to physically come in the office to perform the duties & responsibilities of the positions
  • Must have current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • Must be able to work well with children
  • Must have time management skills and the ability to work independently
Preferred
  • Experience working with children
  • Computer knowledge (Outlook, HMS)
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English
  • Communicate effectively with people of different cultural and educational backgrounds
  • Certified Dental Assistant (preferred, Not Required)
