Job summary

The Florida Department of Health is seeking an OPS Government Analyst I in Tallahassee to assist in evaluating licensees for regulatory compliance and to monitor data reports for accuracy. You will help with data cleanup projects and manage multiple tasks with a heavy caseload.

This is a professional position responsible for assisting in evaluating licensees to ensure regulatory requirements are met and maintained, reviewing data reports for accuracy, monitoring reports to distribute findings, assisting with data cleanup projects, or other duties as assigned, while managing large caseloads and multiple projects.

The employee is expected to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to prepare, provide, and deliver quality work products representative of the Department’s commitment to quality, efficient services and patient safety. The employee will demonstrate attention to detail, confidentiality, and quality case review and document preparation, evidenced by accuracy, correct grammar and format, appropriate content, and timeliness.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledge of computer data bases; knowledge and use of the compliance management system and licensing system used by the Agency; knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures and government rules & regulations; Skill in reading and writing; investigating and researching; knowing how to find information and identifying essential information; finding ways to structure or classify multiple pieces of information; understand and interpret data reports; experience with data cleanup; using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches; organizational skills. Ability to understand sentences and paragraphs in work related documents; effectively manage time; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; make sound judgments; interpret, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations and policies and procedures; ability to maintain strict confidentiality; ability to provide information to supervisor and fellow employees; ability to pass a thorough background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

• An associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience, to include: reviewing or auditing documents for compliance, applying state or federal statutes, rules, or policies and procedures through regulatory operational activities; managing a high caseload and multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Must have a valid Driver's License, satisfactorily complete a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit are requirements for employment.

Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
