Superior Essex Inc. seeks an Operations Finance Controller to partner with Manufacturing and Operations leadership, translating operational performance into financial results and driving cost optimization across plants.

The role requires strong FP&A, cost accounting, inventory management, and the ability to communicate financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary finance partner to Plant Leadership and Manufacturing Operations.
• Provide financial guidance to improve operational and financial performance.
• Lead monthly financial reviews with plant and operations leadership.
• Promote financial accountability and understanding throughout manufacturing operations.
• Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
• Prepare, analyze, and communicate monthly plant financial results with variances.
• Lead annual operating budget and monthly forecasting for manufacturing operations.
• Support long-range planning and strategic manufacturing initiatives.
• Analyze financial performance trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of manufacturing financial results.
• Analyze costs including labor, materials, utilities, maintenance, and overhead.
• Monitor metrics like plant P&L, cost per pound, labor efficiency, and inventory turns.
• Evaluate impact of production volume, product mix, and process changes.
• Partner with Operations to identify productivity improvements and cost reductions.
• Quantify benefits of Lean manufacturing and automation.
• Develop KPIs connecting operational performance to financial results.
• Drive standardization of accounting practices and forecasting methodologies across facilities.
• Consolidate financial issues and provide clear summaries to Finance leadership.
• Assist in action plans to close performance gaps and meet objectives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, internal controls, and SOX.
