Position

Title: OPS DENTIST – 64858668 (Part‑time, 20 hours per week)
Agency: Department of Health, Okaloosa County
Pay Plan: Temp
Salary: $75.00 per hour

Responsibilities

This part‑time position provides comprehensive dental services as part of the Department of Health Okaloosa Dental Program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct dental exams, diagnose, plan and evaluate treatment for oral pathology, including emergency surgery and preventive care.
  • Interpret radiographs and intraoral photographs for diagnosis and management of infections and oral diseases.
  • Treat infections, diseases, injuries, malformations; perform extractions, oral surgical procedures, and restorative work with composites.
  • Apply topical fluoride, perform occlusal analysis, scaling, root planning, prophylaxis, and mount articulated models for lab services.
  • Maintain accurate dental records, billing sheets and compliance with Medicaid and OSHA guidelines.
  • Provide educational and promotional programs on dental health.
  • Coordinate quarterly with dental staff to review records, update policies, and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Dental Program Manager to maintain program policies, infection control manuals, and stay current with Medicaid billing guidelines.
  • Input and verify electronic assessment reports (EARs) in the HMS system and reconcile with timesheets.
  • Provide consultative assistance to public and private entities on oral health issues.
  • Ensure quality of care complies with state and federal laws and Florida Department of Health guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Agency’s mission and vision.
