Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Research Scientist in Ophthalmology to plan, coordinate, and drive a major research project. The ideal candidate will work independently, take initiative, and lead experimental planning through data analysis.

Preference for experience with mice, in vivo procedures, and mentoring junior researchers. This role includes responsibilities across publication-ready reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes coordinates, directs, and personally participates in assigned scientific or medical research project.
• Reviews and analyzes resulting research data; revises techniques or approaches as needed by data.
• Compiles, writes, and submits research results to supervisor; prepares research papers, reports, and abstracts for publication.
• Designs, develops, or adapts equipment used in experiments or research to obtain desired results.
• Plans and supervises training of technicians and other laboratory personnel; ensures proper techniques and safety.
