Job summary

Wayne State University in Detroit seeks a Research Assistant in the Department of Ophthalmology, Visual and Anatomical Sciences to support laboratory‑based and clinical research under the PI. You will design and perform protocols, recruit participants, collect and analyze data, and help prepare methods for publications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; advanced knowledge.
Entry level (less than a year) experience in basic research or human subjects preferred.
Ability to analyze, summarize and interpret research findings and data.

Responsibilities

Design and perform research protocols independently or with supervision to meet protocol needs.
Recruit participants for studies by developing surveys and interviewing candidates.
Collect and log laboratory results; evaluate data and present key findings.
Maintain lab areas and order supplies; ensure safety and compliance.
Prepare methods and summarize data for presentations and journals.
