Job summary

American Academy of Ophthalmology is seeking a full-time ophthalmologist with excellent cataract surgery skills and US residency. The candidate should be board-eligible/board-certified and capable of practicing general ophthalmology with potential subspecialty training.

The practice operates in three locations in Orange County within 20 minutes of each other, about an hour northwest of NYC, in a family-friendly Hudson Valley region with outdoor recreation and lower cost of living.

Qualifications

• Residency completed in the US.
• Excellent cataract surgery skills; cornea/glaucoma a plus.
• Full-time availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide general ophthalmic and surgical ophthalmology services including cataract surgery.
• Support subspecialty training while performing cataract surgery.
• Work across three locations within the Hudson Valley/Orange County area.

Our current services include general ophthalmic and optometric care, refractive cataract surgery, surgical and medical glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgery. The practice can welcome a new colleague with subspecialty training in any area, but an appropriate candidate must be able to also perform cataract surgery.

Three locations in Orange County within 20 minutes of each other, all approximately 1 hour northwest of NYC in the breathtaking natural beauty of the Hudson Valley - an area filled with outdoor recreation, lower cost of living, top ranked schools, and a safe and beautiful family environment.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure in NY state and board-certified / board-eligible.
