Job summary

Sight360 is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician in Lake Wales, FL to collect patient histories, perform visual acuity tests, refractions, and various diagnostic tests. The role requires travel between clinic locations and potential overtime based on patient and operational needs.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in ophthalmology, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform manifest refraction and Goldmann tonometry with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in Ophthalmology.
• Certification preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform manifest refraction and tonometry.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document patient medical history and diagnostic testing results.
• Perform visual acuity testing, refractions, tonometry, pupil evaluation, muscle testing, visual fields, pachymetry, and dry eye testing.
• Conduct advanced diagnostic imaging and testing including corneal topography, retinal imaging, fluorescein angiography, and B-scan ultrasonography.
• Educate patients on post-operative care, medications, contact lens use, and exam expectations.
• Assist with contact lens fittings, in-office procedures, lasers, and minor procedures, including patient consent preparation.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness, sterilization, and overall clinic sanitation.
• Provide clinical support within scope of practice under physician supervision.
