Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners, LLC seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to greet patients, explain visits, and escort them to exam rooms. You will perform diagnostic ophthalmic tests and document results in the EMR, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a sterile clinic environment.

The role involves assisting with minor surgeries and injections, educating patients, and supporting the care team. Travel between Akron Fairlawn, Kent and Stow offices is required as needed.

Qualifications

• EMR experience preferred.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Strong patient communication skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain appointment expectations.
• Enter patient information into EMR accurately.
• Perform diagnostic ophthalmic tests and procedures (visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry).
• Assist with minor procedures and post-procedure instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate medical records.
• Educate patients on medications and post‑operative care.
• Assist team and participate in special projects as requested.
