Job summary

Spectrum Vision Partners and OCLI Vision seek an Ophthalmic Technician to support doctors and ensure a smooth patient experience in Setauket, NY. You’ll perform pre-exam tasks, assist during procedures, and help manage patient flow while upholding infection control standards.

Ideal candidates bring strong verbal and written communication, a patient-focused attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Ocular pharmacology knowledge is a plus, not required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Patient-focused and compassionate demeanor.
• Reliable and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Flexible team player with a can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Record vision, depth, color, and peripheral tests.
• Apply eye drops and collect/process specimens.
• Triage emergencies and manage patient flow.
• Prep rooms and assist doctors during procedures.
• Maintain equipment and infection control protocols.
