UPMC is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician for the Urgent Eye Care Center in Pittsburgh. You will perform ophthalmic testing, support ophthalmologists, and help maintain a smooth patient flow in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

This full-time role offers a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri, typically 7:45am-4:15pm) with flexible scheduling based on clinic needs and onsite parking options. The team is dedicated to delivering exceptional eye care in a dynamic clinical setting.

Competenze

• History taking: ocular, medical, medication, social and family history.
• Visual acuity assessment: distance, near, intermediate, pinhole, best corrected, and related testing.

Mansioni

• History taking to include ocular, medical, medication, social and family. Visual acuity assessment: with and without correction, distance, near and intermediate, pinhole, best corrected, potential acuity, brightness acuity Lensometry: automated and manual Pupillary assessment: measurement, compare and evaluate. Visual fields: Amsler grid & confrontation fields Ocular Motility: Knowledge of the functions & anomalies, cover tests, stereo-acuity, nystagmus Refractometry: auto-refractor, transposing scripts from + to -
• Tonometry: ICare, Tonopen and the care and proper disinfection of each. Supplemental skills: Color testing, glare test Angle assessment & dilation of pupils. Contact lenses: insertion, removal, and instructions. Assist with maintaining office inventory, notifying appropriate staff when supplies are needed, restocking exam rooms, cleaning and sterilizing of instruments and cleaning patient exam rooms at end of day. Travel to other clinical sites.
