University of Louisville Physicians is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmology exams and treatments at the Lions Eye Center in Louisville, KY. The role involves assisting patients and physicians with eye examinations, history taking, refractions, dilation, and in-office laser and injection procedures.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, JCAHPO COA/COT certification (preferred), and knowledge of ophthalmic testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• JCAHPO COA/COT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic testing preferred.
• Spanish language ability is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients and escort them to room.
• Obtain patient chief complaint, medical history, medications and allergies, and eye history.
• Check patient eye prescription with lensometer.
• Assess vision, pupils, motility, visual field, IOP, and color vision.
• Complete refraction and dilate eyes as needed.
• Assist with lasers and injections in the office.
