Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification Required.
• 1-2 years of Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmology Clinic experience.
• Refraction experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient intake and ophthalmology workups.
• Conduct refraction testing and document visual acuity measurements.
• Obtain patient medical histories and ophthalmic histories.
• Measure distance and near vision with and without corrective lenses.
• Perform intraocular pressure testing and pupil assessments.
• Conduct visual field testing and color vision testing.
• Perform ocular motility examinations and basic diagnostic testing.
• Assist physicians with ophthalmic examinations and procedures.
• Conduct slit lamp preparation and assist with examinations.
• Obtain lensometry and optical measurements for corrective lenses.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and patient education.
• Instruct patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
• Schedule testing, procedures, admissions, and follow-up appointments.
• Manage patient flow throughout the clinic.
• Document findings accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate laboratory studies, ophthalmic photography, and diagnostic procedures.
