Job summary

Carrot LASIK & Eye Center in Mesa, AZ is seeking an upbeat, experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our ophthalmology clinic and surgery center as a full-time team member. The position offers a starting hourly rate of $19.00+ depending on experience and certifications.

You will support doctors with comprehensive patient testing, assist in surgical procedures, manage EMR scheduling, and maintain patient records while delivering excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• COA or COT preferred.
• Experience with EMA or any EMR/Practice Management system strongly preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Must be prompt, relationship oriented, detail focused, efficient, able to multi-task.
• Experience with refractive and IOL sales a plus.
• Shifts vary with hours 7:00am-6:00pm; occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors and staff with patient care and perform accurate technical work-ups and testing (refractions, lensometry, keratometry, tonometry, visual fields, OCT, muscle testing, fundus photos, slit lamp exams, pupil exams, topography).
• Scribe for doctors, assist with surgical procedures, process pharmacy requests, provide patient correspondence and feedback, answer phones and greet patients.
• Schedule follow-up appointments via EMR and patient portal; assist with check-in/check-out; update patient records; respond to voicemails and emails; assist with various clinic/surgery center tasks.

Carrot LASIK & Eye Center is actively seeking an upbeat, experienced, detail oriented, efficient and relationship focused team member to join our growing Ophthalmology clinic and surgery center in Mesa, AZ as a full-time Ophthalmic Technician. The minimum hourly rate for this position starts at $19.00/hr + depending on experience and certifications.

The Ophthalmic Technician assists the doctors and staff with patient care through performing accurate technical work-ups and special testing including manual refractions, lensometry, keratometry, tonometry, visual fields, optical coherence tomography, muscle testing, fundus photos, slit lamp exams, pupil exams, topography, etc. Scribing for the doctors, assisting with surgical procedures, processing pharmacy requests, providing patient correspondence and feedback as well as answering phones and greeting all patients and guests. Scheduling follow up appointments via our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and patient portal kiosk as well as assisting with patient check-in an check-out as needed. Updates patient records, responds to voicemail and email requests and assists with a variety of tasks in the clinic and surgery center.

• Position requires long periods of sitting, typing, speaking and standing as well as the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
