Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support eye care for our pediatric patients in Gilbert. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist providers, and help manage imaging and diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnoses.

You will also be responsible for maintaining exam rooms, handling supplies, giving eye drops per physician orders, and traveling between clinic sites as needed to cover appointments.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination and treatment. This includes obtaining patient history, documenting allergies, obtains current vision measurement, maintains medication list, and generating surgical consent forms. Assists the provider in the course of the patient encounter as requested.
• Administers medications such as eye drops under physician’s written order.
• Performs various diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Maintains supplies and equipment for treatment and examination.
• Travels between offices for clinic coverage as requested.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
