Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Ophthalmic Procedure Technician to support clinic operations, prepare medications, and assist physicians during procedures. You will ensure proper documentation in the EHR and maintain medication reconciliation and inventory across satellites.

The role requires at least a year of back-office healthcare experience, strong HIPAA knowledge, and reliable attendance. Travel to multiple AVP locations may be required. A high school diploma is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Preps, logs, and draws up medications for procedures
  • Assists with all clinical procedures such as injections and lasers
  • Documents all relevant procedures information into EHR per workflow
  • Ensures proper sanitation, cleaning and sterilization of rooms and instruments
  • Conducts diagnostic testing such as OCTs to improve clinic flow
  • Assists with supplies and medication stock-up such as monitoring inventory, and counting and sorting medication for satellite locations in coordination with the Scribe and Clinic Manager (gauze, eye wash, eye drops, applicator, drapes)
  • Serves as back-up Scribe to the Physician
  • Provides back-up support to other technicians when assigned
  • Interacts with patients, staff, and providers in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Coordinates with referral and benefit teams to ensure procedures are approved per insurance
  • Determines patient flow and placement in clinic lanes
  • Performs various duties related to medication reconciliation such as Arbimed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
