Job summary

Prism Vision Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to join Spokane Eye Clinic in Spokane Valley, WA. This onsite, non-exempt role supports physicians with measurements, tests, and documentation to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.

The position requires High School/GED; a bachelor’s degree is preferred and 0–2 years (OA1) or 2+ years (OAII) ophthalmic experience may be considered. Travel to other locations may be needed occasionally.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0–2 years Ophthalmic Assistant experience; OAII: 2+ years Ophthalmic Assistant experience.
• Knowledge/skills: accuracy, communication, accountability, adaptability, and professionalism in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Performs ocular and systemic history taking and records visual acuity.
• Conducts tests as ordered (OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry).
• Assists physician, enters data into EMR or paper records, and administers medications.
