• Completion of a twelve-week COA training program or AAO Independent Study Course, and passing the COA exam within the first year.
• Annual continuing education credits must be maintained.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations to ensure efficient clinic flow and accurate records.
• Assist physicians with therapeutic procedures and perform diagnostic tests as trained.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care and maintain a supportive patient environment.
• Perform ophthalmic photography if required and maintain equipment.
• Communicate clearly in accordance with policy and contribute to clinic operations as needed.
