Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston invites applications for an Ophthalmic Assistant. This entry-level role supports physicians by gathering patient data, conducting visual acuity testing, visual field testing, lensometry, auto refractometry, refractometry, pupil assessment, extraocular motility, tonometry, eye drops, and record keeping in a clinical setting.

Under supervision, you will participate in employer-sponsored training with the goal of becoming certified by JCAHPO as a Certified

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! FREE TRAINING PROVIDED!
• 0-1 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant; 1-2 years in a fast-paced environment; 1-2 years in customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians by gathering patient data and maintaining clinical workflow.
• Conduct visual acuity testing, visual field testing, lensometry, auto refractometry, refractometry, pupil assessment, extraocular motility, gross external examination, and tonometry.
• Perform eye drop instillation, participate in patient care, and maintain patient medical records.
• Strive to become certified by JCAHPO as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within 24 months from date of hire.
