Job summary

Pediatric-Ophthalmology- in Cranberry Township, PA is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to join our busy pediatric ophthalmology team. You will perform initial patient assessments, obtain medical history, measure intraocular pressure, refraction, and visual acuity, and assist the doctor during in-office procedures.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service, exceptional organization, and comfort working with children and adults with special needs.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Ophthalmology experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and gather medical history and relevant information for their visit.
  • Conduct an initial assessment of the patient and record all findings.
  • Assist in in-office procedures, as needed.
  • Educate patients on eye health and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace at all times.
  • Maintain consumable supplies and re-order as needed.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Pediatric Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team! As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting the initial assessment of a patient, including listening to their complaints or concerns, obtaining a relevant medical history, and measuring intraocular pressures, refraction, visual acuities, and more. You will also assist as needed with procedures done by the doctor in-office, help educate patients on eye health and best practices, and maintain an organized, clean work environment at all times. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and is extremely organized. We are looking for someone who has a passion for helping children of all ages, as well as adults with special needs.

Work Schedule
  • Monday thru Friday
  • Shifts rotate between 7:30-3:30, 8-4, and 12-7
  • Overtime available as our ending time relies more on the doctor finishing all exams rather than a pre-determined exact time
  • Primary office of work is located Cranberry Township, PA 16066 with infrequent travel to Murrysville, PA 15668
