Job summary

Iowa Eye Center in Cedar Rapids is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to join our physician-owned practice. The role includes history taking, lensometry, refractometry, IOP measurements and diagnostic testing as part of our patient-focused eye care team.

Iowa Eye Center in Cedar Rapids is now hiring for an Ophthalmic Assistant!

Iowa Eye Center is a physician owned practice that sees patients from both Unity Point and Mercy Medical systems. Local solo practice ophthalmologists founded the group practice in 1992, and there is a large group of employees that have been here since the beginning. It's a great place to work! There are 8 physicians and 55 employees. We are currently searching for someone to join our team. This is a full-time position with one afternoon off per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• History taking
• Lensometry
• Refractometry
• IOP Measurements
• Diagnostic Testing

What we are looking for:

• Experience in Ophthalmic Assisting, but would train a well-qualified Medical Assistant with extensive medical office experience or training
• Experience with Ophthalmology and/or NextGen Practice Management System would be great but not required
• Experience with Ophthalmic and Medical terminology
• Detailed oriented person
• Excellent attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential
• Ability to communicate with your co-workers, physicians and medical personnel
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients
