Job summary

Maxion Wheels is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Trainer to drive plant-wide lean initiatives and ensure safe, efficient operations. You will partner with engineering and production teams to implement new layouts, 5S, and kaizen events across the line.

The role requires degree in engineering, about 5 years in operations/engineering, and familiarity with lean methods and Six Sigma. Strong communication and coaching skills are essential to build capability and sustain continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILTIES

This position is responsible for lean manufacturing training of the entire plant personnel and implementation of lean initiatives within the plant.

• Responsible for new launches and the lean initiatives involved
• Contribute with Engineering team defining new layouts with safety, ergonomic, lean considerations
• Lead 5S deployment on new launches
• Support plant as needed for process improvements with lean manufacturing practices
• Develop formal/strategic plan kaizen event schedule
• Communicate and document to plant process improvements and measurable metric improvements on each event
• Develop and communicate recommended process improvements to improve performance
• Develop and implement lean training and keep current on new & best practices
• Develop current up-to-date materials appropriate and utilize in all events
• Support training/coaching of all employees throughout the plant
• Document and maintain all training to ensure all employees are benefiting
• Lead and support all lean/kaizen workshops and follow thru on all events
• Facilitate all lean events according to formal schedule
• Document measurable improvements
• Follow through on all 30 day/60 day goal lists
• Responsible for paint line quality, reliability, and new set ups to machines
• Oversee, coach, mentor line leader/teams throughout paint process
• Manage within budget
• Determine best opportunities for improvement with Finance Dept
• Expenses are within budget
• Develop contingency plans should re-budgeting become necessary due to business conditions
• Provide accurate final information to Finance
