Job summary

Qualifications

• Read tape measures and interpret measurements accurately.
• Weld components including link preparation, welding and trimming.
• Understand heat treatment processes (austenitizing and tempering) as prescribed.
• Complete process and quality documentation accurately.
• Adhere to safety policies and housekeeping practices.
• Move materials within the work cell and assist with packaging.
• Operate a welder according to written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding equipment to assemble welded chain components.
• Read and apply measurements for chain links.
• Conduct or assist with heat treatment and testing per specifications.
• Prepare and package finished chain assemblies when required.
• Ensure compliance with quality specifications and documentation.

Union Position - Shifts are determined by Seniority

Performs the following functions related to the manufacture of welded chain assemblies and/or other production activities as assigned:

• Chain cutting – manual or with automatic equipment.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Welding – link preparation, welding and trim on specified equipment.
• Heat Treatment – austenitizing and tempering, as prescribed.
• Proof Load Testing – calibration or proof test as prescribed.
• Packaging or other related activities – as prescribed.
• Handling and movement of materials to, within, and out of the work cell.
• The duties are to operate a welder from written or verbal instructions.
• Repair chain and fabricate assemblies.

• Rely on a lead to set up and adjust equipment
• Abide by safety policies, operator preventative maintenance and housekeeping practices.
• Ensure the quality specifications of the product.
• Accurately complete process and quality documentation.
• Communicate respectfully with others.
• Work with limited supervision.
