Job summary

Cemex US is seeking a proactive Terminal Operator to join our Houston team. You will be the backbone of terminal operations, ensuring that bulk materials are loaded, unloaded, and shipped safely and efficiently while maintaining equipment in good working order.

You’ll monitor safety protocols, interact with logistics, and help train new staff, contributing to reliable service and continuous improvement in a dynamic industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; welding/electrical/maintenance training a plus.
• Experience in terminal operations or similar industrial setting preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with safety and best practices knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Driving Operational Efficiency: Manage and optimize daily terminal operations for seamless logistics and customer service.

You’ll also be hands‑on with equipment maintenance, playing a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly.

Job Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

As a Terminal Operator at Cemex, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Driving Operational Efficiency: Manage and optimize the daily operations of our terminal, ensuring seamless logistics and customer service.
• Mastering Material Flow: Oversee the safe and efficient loading and unloading of bulk materials, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Maintaining Our Machinery: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on terminal equipment, ensuring everything is in peak working condition.

Qualifications

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, you should bring:

• Educational Foundation: A high school diploma or GED is required; additional certifications or training in welding, electrical work, or maintenance are a plus.
• Experience: Experience in terminal operations or a similar industrial setting is preferred.
• Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices. A positive, solution-oriented attitude, with the ability to work well with both customers and colleagues. Capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks.
