Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC, is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator for field installation of underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure. You’ll operate drill equipment to bore paths, locate utilities, and contribute to safe, efficient project execution.

Responsibilities include boring path determination, equipment operation, potholing to verify utilities, site setup and maintenance, and performing tasks in all weather.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver's license with clean driving record.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with drilling equipment and bore design processes.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
