Job summary

Avantor in Carpinteria, CA is seeking a full-time Operator to join our NuSil site. You will work with a diverse team in a manufacturing environment focused on supporting healthcare, aerospace, and biotech industries.

The role involves packaging, operations, and/or manufacturing duties on second shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), with emphasis on equipment upkeep and safety. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma/GED and 1–2 years of packaging/distribution experience; familiarity with cGMP and RCRA

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of packaging or distribution experience preferred.
• cGMP and RCRA training knowledge encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion and operate safely to comply with OSHA requirements.
• Ensure lines are set up and running according to production schedules and work orders.
• Perform line changeovers, inspect lines, and complete prestart-up inspections to address any failed checks.

Whatwe’relooking for

• Education:High School diploma or GEDpreferred.

• Experience:1-2 years of experience in packaging or distribution.

• Certification(s):Nonerequired.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a chemical plant.

• Understanding/familiaritywith cGMP and RCRA training.

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.

• Ensure the lines areset upand running to the production schedulein accordance withwork orders.

• Understand line and pump configuration; clean and inspect lines; and perform linechangeoversas needed.

• Perform prestart-up inspection on equipment and ensure that items that have failed checks are addressed.

• Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized.

• Willing to multitask and be flexible.

• Keepaccurateproduction records.

• Collaborate with Supervisors and Maintenance Personnel to resolve equipment setup and operations issues.

• Work with the QA Dept to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues. Has the authority and responsibility to stop the line andnotify QAof a contamination event.

• Ability to perform the duties of both a packaging operator and material handler.

• Manage hazardous and universal waste in accordance with local,state,and federal regulations.

• Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

• Demonstrate mechanical ability.

• Critical decision-making skills, creativity, and multitasking ability.
