Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Operator-in-Training in Georgia to join a collaborative team responsible for the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant. You will assist with plant operations, safety, and data collection while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced municipal setting.

You will perform preventive maintenance, monitor meters, collect samples, and maintain logs, helping ensure safety and regulatory compliance. This role emphasizes learning and growth within Jacobs."

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic experience operating water/wastewater treatment plants.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to enter data into a maintenance management system.
• Valid drivers license with no major infractions.

Responsibilities

• Operate wastewater treatment facilities and monitor flow, quality, and equipment performance.

As an Operator-in-Training, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted.

Based in Americas, GA, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant including maintenance of equipment and quality control testing. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. You’ll operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent, observe variations in operating conditions, and interpret meter and gauge readings. You’ll also collect samples, maintain shift logs and perform other duties as required. Most importantly, you’lltake actionto ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.

Here’s What You’ll Need

• Hight School Diploma or GED
• Basic experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants
• Basic understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to enter data into a maintenance management system
• A valid driver’s license with no major infractions

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

• A current, or working towards obtaining a first level water/wastewater treatment certification
• Basic familiarity of the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations, valves, pumps, and motors
• Safe work practices

The base salary range for this position is $36,100.00 to $51,700.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
