Job summary

Barriere Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a dependable equipment operator in Louisiana. The role involves operating backhoes, rollers, and auxiliary machinery outdoors while adhering to safety protocols and performing routine maintenance.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of road/construction experience, be able to read and write simple sentences, perform basic math, and lift up to 51 pounds. The position requires outdoor work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum of 1 year experience in road or construction field, outdoors.
• Able to read, understand, and write simple sentences, and perform simple mathematical equations.
• Must observe all safety protocol.
• Must lift up to 51 pounds and work outdoors in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate Rubbertire Backhoe/ Excavator, Base Roller, Small Asphalt Roller, and Powerbroom.
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment (lubricating, cleaning, fueling).
• Make connections between equipment and attachments; use hand tools to complete tasks.
• Perform laborer activities when not operating the equipment.

Job Duties

• Operating a Rubbertire Backhoe/Excavator, Base Roller, Small Asphalt Roller, and Powerbroom
• Ability to do basic repairs and maintenance on the equipment such as lubricating, cleaning, and fueling
• Ability to perform connections between the equipment and its attachments; ability to use hand tools to accomplish these tasks
• Perform activities of a laborer when not operating the equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity.
• The maximum unassisted lift requirement is 51 pounds for all physical job descriptions
