Job summary

Alcon is seeking an Operator II for the Johns Creek Distribution Center in Johns Creek, Georgia. The role covers warehouse shipping & receiving, gathering, verifying, and packing items for shipment according to specifications and transportation methods.

Typical duties include manual and clerical processing, using hand trucks and computers, verifying quantities and weights, routing materials, and fabricating crates when needed. English fluency and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with RF scanners and basic computer usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform shipping and receiving duties using a hand truck and computers.
• Receive materials or prepare for shipment.
• Verify quantities, weights and conformance; document shipments.
• Route materials to destinations.
• May fabricate and assemble nonstandard crates.
• Rotate monthly between department areas.
• Able to lead a small group.
• Communicate via email and in-person directions.

As an Operator II supporting our distribution center, you will be trusted with warehouse shipping & receiving, gathering, verifying, and packing items for shipment according to specifications and the applicable transportation method recording received and shipped items at the Johns Creek Distribution, in Johns Creek, Georgia.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and / or receiving duties which may require the use of a hand truck and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data.
• Receives incoming materials or prepares material for shipment.
• Verifies quantity, weight and conformance of materials prepares records of materials shipped.
• Routes materials to destinations.
• May lay out, fabricate and assemble nonstandard crates and boxes.
• Rotate on a monthly basis to areas withing the department.
• Able to lead a small group of individuals.
• Good communication skills, email-face to face-work direction-training

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

Work hours: 40 hours per week: 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday: 3:00PM EST - 11:30PMEST (some weekends required)
