Washington County Road Department is seeking an Operator I to perform labor tasks in the construction, maintenance, and improvement of county roads. You will operate dump trucks, loaders, and graders, and assist with parts inventory and shop maintenance under supervision.
Qualifications include the ability to pass background checks and drug screening; pre-employment physicals may be required. This is a full-time position with standard hours, offering health and retirement benefits.

Under the general supervision of the Job Supervisor or the Road Superintendent, the incumbent primarily performs labor tasks in the construction, improvement, and maintenance of county roads. Also, operates road department equipment including dump trucks, loaders and graders. The incumbent is responsible for the procurement and maintenance of the parts inventory, assist with two-way radio communications, and maintain the physical condition of the shop building. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of assigned tools and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required, this position is subject to pre-employment, random drug and reasonable suspicion testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.
All new and rehires must pass a pre-employment drug test and are subject to a physical examination and verification of information provided.
