Job summary

SWM International is seeking an Operator I Extruder for the 3rd shift to efficiently operate and troubleshoot an extrusion line. The role requires setup, startup, and continuous operation of equipment, with willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities include line setup, tool installation, resin selection, startup checks, product testing, QC, data entry, and adherence to safety regulations. A high school diploma and basic math, measurement, and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in reading caliper/micrometer/ruler measurements.
• Able to read & understand Metric and US customary systems.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Read and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Set up the extrusion line according to schedule and BOM/SOC.
• Start up the extrusion machine, adjust controls, test initial product and verify spec.
• Package product per instructions and store finished product.
• Troubleshoot the process and perform QC testing per SOC.
• Enter data accurately in data collection systems.

Operator I Extruder – 3rd Shift

Description: Efficiently and safely perform the duties of operating an extrusion line machine, including setup, startup, troubleshooting, and continuous operation of equipment. Must be willing and available to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up the extrusion line according to schedule:
  • Read and understand the schedule, BOM, and SOC.
  • Perform all functions of the setup, including:
    • Select proper tooling.
    • Install tooling.
    • Ensure correct resin.
• Start up the extrusion machine according to schedule:
  • Position all controls to SOC.
  • Activate extruder and miscellaneous drives.
  • Test initial product.
  • Make necessary adjustments.
  • Verify product is in spec.
  • Package product in accordance with the packaging instructions.
  • Troubleshoot the process.
  • Perform QC test per SOC.
  • Store finished product per instructions.
  • Validate process is in control.
  • Correctly enter data in data collection.
  • Clean and return to stock all used tooling.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in the use of calipers, micrometers, and rulers.
• Read & understand Metric & English (US Customary) measuring system.

  • Able to convert measurements from one system to another.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Read and comprehend English.

Preferred

• Forklift Certification preferred.
