Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Operator I to operate and maintain sludge and related processing equipment in a refinery/industrial facility, under direct supervision. You will collect samples, log readings, and assist with maintenance to meet customer specs.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and the ability to work in a team environment, following safety procedures and training programs outlined by Veolia.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to work in refinery/industrial environments.
  • Basic math and sampling/testing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the work area neat and clean and compliant with safety standards.
  • Collect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling testing.
  • Log and record process readings during shifts.
  • Perform unit rounds and monitor equipment performance.
  • Assist in facility equipment preventative maintenance and general upkeep.

Job Description
Position Purpose

The Operator I operate(s) and maintain(s) sludge, de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in refinery/industrial facility to meet customer specifications under direct supervision.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
  • Keep the work area neat and clean.
  • Collect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling testing.
  • Log and Record process readings.
  • Perform unit rounds.
  • Assist in facility equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Assist in general maintenance of facility equipment.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.
  • Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
