Scotts Miracle-Gro Company in Fort Madison, IA is seeking an hourly Materials Handler to move supplies and products safely in a fast-paced facility. The role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne pay progression and starts at 25.50 per hour, paid weekly.

Actual pay will reflect skills, experience, and location. You will perform daily inspections, document transfers, operate dock equipment, and support production with timely material handling and accurate paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the movement of supplies, materials, and products through the facility in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
• Complete daily inspection checklists, fuel changes, and tag-out process for repair of powered industrial trucks as needed.
• Accurately complete and understand required paperwork for internal transfers, bills of lading, supply counts, changeover data, and damage reports.
• Operate dock locking mechanisms and chock/block trailers.
• Use computer mounted and handheld scanning equipment to manage inventory control systems.
• Support production and quality by supplying materials and documentation needed for rework or trials.

This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $25.50 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

In this role you will:

• Responsible for facilitating the movement of supplies, materials, and products throughout the facility in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to plant safety rules and programs in a fast paced environment.
• Complete daily inspection checklists, fuel changes, and tag out process for repair of powered industrial trucks if needed.
• Accurately complete and understand required paperwork for internal transfers, bills of lading, supply counts, changeover data, overage/shortage and damage reports, component verification sheets, and others as needed.
• Operate dock locking mechanisms, and chock and block trailers.
• Operate plant inventory control systems effectively and efficiently such as computer mounted and handheld scanning equipment.
• Support production and quality requirements by supplying materials and documentation needed for rework or trials.
