Job summary

Zeus Industrial Products, a leader in polymer extrusion, is seeking a Production/Assembly Technician at our Chattanooga, TN facility. You will perform inline tubing processing, inspect products for defects, label orders, and prepare shipments while adhering to safety rules.

Ideal candidates are capable of lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, and following precise instructions with legible handwriting.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform inspection functions such as visual inspections to detect cosmetic defects and color differentiation.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions with accuracy.
• Careful handling of tubing and compliance with safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Some coiling of input.
• Clamping, taping, cutting, inspecting, bagging, tagging, and straightening of tubing; labeling and preparing orders for shipping.
• Packing heat shrink dies in oven; setting up heat shrink equipment to produce proper specs on tubing for order.
• Keep a clean, safe workplace.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Occasional utility work.
• The shrinking of tubing over customer supplied mandrels

Job description

Expands, cuts, inspects, bags, and tags FEP, PFA, and other plastic tubing.

Responsibilities

• Some coiling of input.
• Clamping, taping, cutting, inspecting, bagging, tagging, and straightening of tubing; labeling and preparing orders for shipping.
• Packing heat shrink dies in oven; setting up heat shrink equipment to produce proper specs on tubing for order.
• Keep a clean, safe workplace.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Occasional utility work.
• The shrinking of tubing over customer supplied mandrels

Qualifications

• Lifting: Up to 40 pounds periodically to a height of 36\"
• Clothing: Zeus uniform after probationary period
• Solvents: Naphtha, acetone, alcohol in area; safety equipment and rules must be used.
• Standing/ Within a 30 foot by 36\"area. Very little time to sit down.
• Walking: Constant, some stationary standing.
• Writing: Legible writing is a must using pens, to constantly fill in worksheet data.
• Safety Equipment: Heat gloves, safety glasses, and protective gear when needed.
• Cleaning: Using brooms, mops, rags all-purpose cleaners to keep entire area clean as required.
• The employee must have the ability to perform inspection functions such as visual inspections to detect cosmetic defects and color differentiation of products
• A thorough knowledge of standard and good sense practices is a must. Ability to carry out oral and written instructions along with the ability to adapt to different situations. Physical condition demands being able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Any combination of experience that enables a person to make sound judgments and decisions.
• Basic mathematics knowledge is helpful.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. Any unscheduled absence or tardy will have a negative impact on our ability to meet our production objectives.
