Job summary

QUIETFLEX MANUFACTURING CO LP is seeking a Duct Line Operator to assemble Flexible Duct per specifications, perform changeovers, and maintain documentation and cleanliness of the work area.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to read/write English, and strong attention to detail. Prior machine operator experience is preferred but not mandatory, with reliable work ethic and teamwork values.

Responsibilities

• Follow the production schedule given by the crew chief.
• Inspect the line to verify raw materials are correct (insulation, core, jacket, UL labels) per product specs.
• Fill out duct line operator first article and safety log and GAP analysis sheets.
• Make changes to Mandrel, glass guide basket, and UL labels for product changes as needed.
• Adjust the label gun to date code corresponding to the date.
• Load core tray with core, foil jackets onto machine table and load insulation into the insulation feeder.
• Operate the Duct Machine and roll product to the bagger when complete.
• Maintain area and keep it clean; perform other tasks to support business needs.

Job description

Operates the insulation machine to perform the assembly of the product (Flexible Duct) to specifications. The operator performs changeovers, checks for correct material, labels, fills out the 1st article inspection sheet, scrap reporting, gap analysis sheet and runs efficiently. The operator will also follow the production schedule for their line.

Position ResponsibilitiesMay Include:

• Follow the production schedule given by the crew chief.
• Inspect the line to verify the raw materials are the correct ones (insulation, core, jacket, and UL labels) according to the product specification sheets.
• Fill out duct line operator first article & safety log and GAP analysis sheets.
• Make the necessary changes to Mandrel, glass guide basket, and UL labels for product changes when necessary.
• Adjust the label gun to the date code corresponding to the date.
• Load the core tray with core, foil (silver) jackets onto machine table or black jacker onto reel holder, and load insulation into the insulation feeder machine.
• Put the jackets on the Mandrel and start the jacket winder.
• Operate the Duct Machine.
• Roll the product to the bagger when complete.
• Maintain area and always keep clean.
• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Experience:

• Prior machine operator experience preferred but not mandatory.

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

• Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Manufacturing environment with forklift traffic.
• PPE required: steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and gloves.
• Job requires standing (up to 90%), walking (up to 10%), stooping or bending, reaching, twisting and turning.
• Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 40 lbs.
• Hand Eye Coordination, handling tools and other objects (holding, grasping), repetitive wrist motion (flexion/rotation), and repetitive foot movements (Foot Pedals).
