Job summary

Sabert Corporation is seeking a Die Cut Operator to reliably run die cut equipment and ensure output meets production targets. The role includes setup and changeovers, maintaining quality, and performing routine maintenance to keep lines running smoothly.

Responsibilities include scanning transactions with RF devices, handling materials with pallet jacks and forklifts, and documenting production and quality data.

Qualifications

  • Operate die cut machinery safely and at target rates.
  • Complete tooling setup and resolve changes during runs.
  • Use RF scanner to generate WMS labels and track transactions.
  • Inspect die and product quality, report defects.
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, LOTO and safety procedures.
  • 2+ years of experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Run die cut machines at established rates.

Job description

The Die Cut Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating Die Cut machines. Operator is responsible for running the Die Cut machine to meet established production requirements and for performing activities associated with safe machine operation, set up and changeover, scheduled preventative maintenance and machine service, quality, documentation, housekeeping, and sanitation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Run equipment at established rates, continuously monitor machine performance, clear jams, and document any variables that may cause machine slowdown.
  • Complete required tooling set up for changeovers in accordance with best practices established by the department and resolve tooling issues during production run.
  • Use RF scanner to scan transactions to the Warehouse Management System and use Warehouse Management System to generate a label that corresponds to the item.
  • Use manual and/or electric pallet jack to transfer material to feeder section and to remove material from machine stacker/delivery section. Use forklift (5490) to move converting tools and converting equipment.
Quality Control
  • Perform equipment/machine operation inspections including examining the die for defects.
  • Inspect product quality as individual loads are ejected from the machine and make necessary modifications at the die to correct any quality issues caused by the die cutting process; ensure bad product is removed; and notify the Supervisor and the Quality Department of any quality issues.
Reporting and Record-keeping
  • Complete documentation for quality, production and machine performance.
Maintenance
  • Maintain production schedule to meet cost, quality and customer service goals.
  • Troubleshoot machine faults on the die cut machine control panel to make machine specific adjustments, clear jams, and return machines to production ready running condition.
  • Perform both preventative and machine specific scheduled maintenance and machine service tasks on the Die Cut machine.
  • Perform daily housekeeping activities and lead and perform full machine sanitation as scheduled.
Compliance/other Tasks
  • Train other Die Cutter operators as required.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including GMP, PPE, HACCP, LOTO, and JSA regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring, where applicable, the product safety, quality, regulatory compliance and legality of all products produced and sold.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to use and operate process specific material handling equipment such as manual/electric pallet jack and powered industrial truck.
  • Ability to use RF scanner for WMS transactions.
  • Knowledge of machine operation, mechanical systems, and electronic machine controls.
  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and machine operating procedures.
  • Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in work area.
  • Basic mathematics (i.e. counting), basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or trade school preferred.
Experience
  • 2+ years of equivalent experience performing in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities.
Work Environment
  • Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. In addition, task specific PPE may be required.
  • Our Manufacturing plant is not environmentally controlled. Changes in humidity and temperature occur throughout the year.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to continuously use hands and fingers to position items and arms to reach as needed.
  • Able to frequently bend, move about the work area.
  • Able to occasionally remain in a stationary position, ascend and descend steps, push and pull objects.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Lifting 50 pounds occasionally.
