King Asphalt, Inc. seeks an experienced dozer operator to perform earthmoving tasks on construction sites in Conway, SC. The role emphasizes safe operation, efficient earthwork, and adherence to company safety rules.
Responsibilities include daily fluid checks, monitoring gauges, basic maintenance, and assisting mechanics with repairs. Candidates should be able to work on varied terrain and coordinate with the supervisor for complex tasks.
Perform duties to operate dozer in a safe and efficient manner to excavate, cut, fill, spread, clear, push and/or tow other construction equipment.
Check all fluid levels at the beginning of engine startup for the day. Monitor gauges and fluid levels throughout the day of operation.
Monitor the operation of equipment throughout the workday. Maintain an awareness of unusual noises or operations and bring any exceptions to the attention of the supervisor.
Perform light mechanical adjustments and/or assist mechanic in performing repairs on assigned equipment. Assist with the lubrication and fueling processes of the dozer.
Dozer operator must possess the ability to perform a variety of tasks. These may include clearing and grubbing, shaping subgrades, base materials, shoulders, slopes and haul roads, ripping rock, stripping and demolition at worksites.
Operator must have the ability to make cuts in the area of known utilities without causing damage to the underground utility.
Operator also must have the ability to operate the dozer in a manner to assure safety of personnel around equipment; especially exercising caution to prevent injury to equipment and personnel when operating on slopes and rough terrain.
Dozer operator must also have the ability to operate and monitor the blade around structures, tools and other equipment so not to damage structures, tools or equipment.
Operator must keep dozer and tracks in a clean and orderly condition. It is required that all safety and company rules/procedures are followed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Some use of reading and writing is required, as well as adding and subtracting of whole numbers. Must be able to follow and take instruction. Operator is required to use and read fixed gauges, instruments and similar devices.
Over one year and up to three years to become familiar with the operation of the dozer to obtain desired results while performing multiple tasks.
