West Fraser is hiring an Operator Apprentice in the United States. This entry-level role expects self-motivated individuals to advance into progressively skilled positions.

You will maintain safe work areas, operate various light and heavy machinery, and support our safety culture while working in a dynamic, outdoor manufacturing setting. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures in loud, high-volume environments performing physical tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Adhere to West Fraser safety policies and procedures.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends.
• Employment offers contingent on successful background check, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe work areas, collect debris and dispose of sawdust and dropped lumber.
• Clean industrial equipment and workstations.
• Relieve production positions and operate various light and heavy machinery.
• Show flexibility to perform varying tasks that may change daily.
• Support safety culture by following mill safety policies and procedures.
