Job summary

Aspire Bakeries LLC is seeking a Scaler Operator for our Newark, CA bakery to accurately prepare and load ingredients, supporting efficient production while upholding food safety standards. You will handle batch specs, monitor equipment, and ensure quality throughout shifts.

The role requires English literacy, basic math, and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds; 1st shift with overtime and weekend availability. Compensation is hourly with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and complete operational documentation and written forms in English.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to identify products and ingredients accurately using labels and production documents.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve basic equipment and process issues.
• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, and load ingredients accurately according to batch specifications and production schedules.
• Operate ingredient conveying systems and maintain accurate lot tracking and production records.
• Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot process-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain product quality standards by verifying ingredient accuracy and following established procedures.
• Perform equipment adjustments, operator preventive maintenance, and support efficient changeovers.
• Train and support new team members while promoting safe and efficient work practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and GMP-compliant work environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a Scaler Operator to join our team at our Newark, California bakery. As a Scaler Operator, you will be accountable for accurately preparing and loading ingredients into mixers to support efficient bakery production while maintaining quality, food safety, and operational standards. This role is critical to ensuring recipe accuracy, production continuity, and consistent product quality.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 1st Shift
• Weekend Availability: Required based on production needs
• Overtime: May be required based on business demand

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $23.50 per hour

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

• Experience operating ingredient handling, conveying, or mixing equipment.
• Forklift certification.
• Experience training or mentoring production operators.
