Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Chemical Operator to manage the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of production activities in the Advanced Lithium Metals dry room environment. You will operate equipment, monitor product quality, uphold safety standards, and contribute to production goals.

Training will lead to a rotating day/night shift schedule. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and preferably prior chemical manufacturing experience, with forklift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior chemical manufacturing or industrial production experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Ability to read operational procedures and equipment schematics.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment aligned with the Journey to Zero safety initiatives.
• Read and follow department SOPs and operational procedures.
• Package finished product according to strict product specifications.
• Monitor production processes and adjust equipment settings to maintain product consistency.
• Inspect finished products for defects and remove non-conforming materials.
• Maintain department quality expectations and standards.
• Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment in a chemical production environment.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and help resolve production problems.
• Maintain accurate operational records, including housekeeping and chemical usage documentation.
• Monitor raw material and packaging inventory levels.
• Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and tractors safely and efficiently.
• Maintain familiarity with industrial chemical manufacturing equipment.
• Read equipment schematics and identify operational requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Complete housekeeping duties as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Safety

Quality Control

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior chemical manufacturing or industrial production experience preferred
• Forklift experience preferred
• Basic understanding of:
• Microsoft Office
• SAP
• Ability to read operational procedures and equipment schematics

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and work on feet for up to 12-hour shifts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in electrically classified areas
• Ability to wear required PPE and respirators

Work Schedule

• Transition to rotating day/night shifts after training completion

Position Summary
